HotGlue is a tool that allows users new to web design to dive straight in and begin creating a web page with no knowledge of coding rquired.

I found it to be a useful introductory tool as I had no technical knowledge of web design and, coming from a background in art, just wanted to start designing.

In its sugar-coated format it makes the seemingly daunting task of creating your first web page a much more palatable experience.
Our first activity with HotGlue was to get to grips with the tools by making the most ridiculous pages we could.

This also alleviated the problem people have with being self-conscious about work they produce when they are new to something; no one really cared about what it looked like which meant an easier atmosphere to learn in.

After going through most of the tools, it seemed fairly intuitive so I started putting down some text boxes and shapes.

I was trying to manipulate the shapes by attempting to rotate them, the first limitation I encountered with HotGlue, after realising I couldn’t do it in an easy manner it made me think outside the box to try and create what I wanted.
I went on to embed some videos and link the pages I had made together.

Everything is made very easy with just a couple of clicks getting you the result you desire. I decided on going down the route of trying to make a crazy myspace-esque page for the zombie kid who “likes turtles”.

As you can see, I went a bit mad with the shapes and colours but I found the whole process to be a really good introduction to something I had very little knowledge of; it was the first website I had made.
